2114

What will the world look like 100 years from now? Taking clues from the past century can provide us with a simple yet fairly accurate assessment of the next century.

A short video that makes an astute observation regarding basic human nature in a fun way.

Dating Anything

More along the lines of Dreams of Genesis and Dating Creation.

You meet a man in front of a very old looking house. He says the house has been in his family for ten generations and is over 400 years old. It sure looks old. The cobblestone steps are worn from thousands of footfalls, the wall around the property is covered with vines, the stucco is peeling in places, the wood creaks, there is a smell of mildew inside the house. You might notice that the floor boards are much wider than they are cut today. The walls may be solid construction, filled with earth between layers of brick. To all your senses the house may appear to be four centuries old.

However, appearances can be deceiving. You should be very skeptical of your thoughts and perceptions. What you think you see, what you think you want, it all may be false.

Every day you dream you create a whole world in minutes. That world might appear to be very old. An old house you see may have an occupant that tells you the illustrious history of the estate, but that house that looks four centuries old didn't exist five minutes ago.

It would be very difficult to tell the difference between a house that is 400 years old and a house that was created minutes ago to be 400 years old. It may be impossible. Even inventing a time machine would not be able to answer the problem, because the very act of going back in time changes history, so you can never then observe the unaltered original timeline. There would be no "original" timeline separate from the altered timeline, just one timeline in which you went back in time.  That's why I would place a limitation on the power of time machines. It may be that you can never travel back to a time before the time machine was first turned on, otherwise you would change history by bringing the time machine to a time before it existed. A time machine could never do anything that would negate its own existence, and so it could never go back in time before it itself existed.

This goes back to the problem of dating anything that was never observed. The house, you can say people observed it. The owner may claim to be tenth generation family living on an old plot of land given to his ancestors. There may well be documentation corroborating the story. Very well. For practical reasons it would be wise to accept the story. It can't be proven, not apodictically, not to the same rigor as self awareness. I know I exist; it's self evident. But other minds, the external world, all that, it's a matter of faith. And so it's a matter of faith that this house has been in this man's family for four centuries.

I guess you could say this relates to a problem that has
irked me since I first heard it. What if this moment you were the first
being to have a conscious thought? All your memories are fake, created
this very moment. Your entire life never happened, you only think you
have. Can you prove or disprove this?

The world, on the other hand, has not been observed. There are no records left by past observers we take on faith as other minds. There is no difference between a world that is a billion years old, a world that is a million years old created to look like it's a billion years old, and a world that was created yesterday to appear a billion years old. How do you create something a billion years old? How do you create a world as old as it appears in your dreams every night? How would you create the Matrix to appear older than it really is?

What about radioactive decay? That can't be faked, can it? Let's suppose that geology can be faked, so we can't use stratigraphy. Geologic layers can be rearranged. It's not that uncommon to read science fiction with alien races powerful enough to create planets from scratch. But isotopic ratios can't be faked, can they? Why not? We're talking about a sufficiently powerful being, aliens, God, Descartes' evil demon, whoever. Why not manipulate the isotopic ratios in every substance to appear younger or older than they really are?

Some people would argue God would never deceive us like that, but is it deception? Is the intention to deceive? Are you deceiving yourself in your dreams? To deceive is to make one believe something that is not true, but what if you're not supposed to believe the world is real? What if you're supposed to know it's fake and the real deception is the deception we perpetrate on ourselves when we believe in the world? Think of it like a movie. You know it's fake, but it's rousing good fun. The deception is when you convince yourself the movie is real and you get scared walking home at night that the killer on the screen might be after you.

Why does the house in the dream appear to be 400 years old? Maybe because it's fun. It's not deception if it's a game. Why does the world appear to be billions of years old? Maybe because an older world is more fun.

And that's where mysticism comes in. That's where waking up comes in. Then you know the world isn't real. Does that make life any easier? No, it makes life harder because you contemplate going along with all the people still living in the dream, following the motions; you can never go back, never accept the world as real again, and if you're not having any fun to begin with then you wonder why you keep beating your head against the wall playing a game you despise. Life doesn't get any easier when you wake up, but it does get funnier. And one of the things you laugh at most is yourself.

Spontaneous Human Combustion

In the program Weird or What? with William Shatner, they do a story about spontaneous human combustion. The video below is set to start on that segment.

Spontaneous human combustion. Can the human body just burst into flames? This is one of those things that's scary as hell. I don't believe at all in the "wick effect" that skep-cocks like to push. So, someone is accidentally set on fire (the one skep-cock in this video says that matches from the man's oxygen tank set him on fire, yet none of the matches were burned and the oxygen tank in the room didn't explode. You would think if anything in that room would have reacted to fire it would have been oxygen, but the fire stayed localized around his body. And how the hell can one of the matches fly off the table, light itself, land on the man, and set him on fire?) and the person just stays there, not moving, for six or seven hours, until the body is reduced to ash, and NOTHING flammable in the surrounding area is affected? Bullshit. I don't know about you, but if just shaking someone is enough to wake one up I'm thinking being engulfed in flames is something that's pretty damn hard to sleep through. "Yeah, I've had a rough day, so I'm just going to sit here and not move while the fire consumes my entire body." I'm pretty sure no one would say that. Even those few people who set themselves on fire in protest were in control of the fire. Had they accidentally been set on fire in their own homes while sitting down and relaxing they wouldn't just keep sitting there and die.

"That's why you can sit by a campfire and not get burned."

Yeah, the human body, which is mostly water, and is covered with a layer of sweat is difficult to ignite, and the updraft from the campfire is pulling air away from the people sitting around it, and the campfire is outside, surrounded by nonflammable material. A human body, in a house full of fuel, is burning for six hours straight and nothing else is burned? If I put a campfire inside my house you better believe shit will get real real quick, but if I put a magic "wick effect" body in my house POOF! Nothing else ignites. Magically.

The one guy, the son of a man who owns a funeral home, I think he would know a thing or two about burning bodies, and he said that after eight hours in a crematorium oven there's more left than what was found in that bedroom. You know, after burning a body in an oven the bones remain intact and have to be crushed into a powder, but here the bones were turned to dust by the heat alone. So, this body was exposed to several thousand degrees, for several hours, and nothing else in the house was touched despite temperatures several times above the ignition point of most household materials? No paper ignited, when exposed to several thousand degrees for most of the day? BULLSHIT!

Of course the real kicker is, the wick effect has been tested, including once on TV, and no one has ever been able to reproduce the effect of a body reduced to dust and the surroundings left unburned. And the same skep-cock on this program who mentioned toasting marshmallows called that TV test a success after seeing it was a failure. He's a liar and a fraud.

So, what's really going on? I don't know. It is something so rare I don't suspect we'll ever know, but the wick effect it ain't.

Holding On To Realizations

A realisation is just that. It is momentary, fleeting. Just like all phenomenal things it arises and ceases. You should not hold onto it,  you should not cling to it. Feelings, thoughts, states, they all come and go, they are not your original face. Only what remains throughout all states is real.

The Demon Agenda

Every year I feel more like Agent
Smith. I hate this place and I want out. These repulsive creatures
surround me, touching me with their filthy hands, trying to infect
me. I don't know what I did to deserve getting thrown into this
prison, but it must have been really bad. I must have been Charlie
Manson evil if they threw me in the dungeon all these years and just
forgot about me.

That's how they get to you. They try to
drill into your mind that you're meat and nothing more. You're
biology. You popped out, and POOF, someone turned a switch and turned
you on for the first time and then years later someone turns the
switch, packs you up, ships you return to sender. It's a lie, it's
all bullshit, it's a trick to get you trapped into thinking and doing
what they want you to do.

And humans just eat it up. Someone
100 years ago found out the secret to programming humans and ever
since has been on a campaign to reprogram the entire species, and has
mostly succeeded spectacularly. 100 years and nearly three billion
humans have been totally reprogrammed. You know, that's more humans
than were alive 100 years ago. There were only two billion humans,
and now they've already reprogrammed three billion humans. The rest,
the other three billion? They'll be dead. Africa will be killed
entirely, so will most of Asia. The evil overlords will kill all the
undesirables with their super armies of reprogrammed soldiers willing
to die for nothing. That way they'll kill off two whole groups of
people, leaving the whole world for themselves and a few select
slaves.

But I see through it. They designed this mind
technique to work on human minds, but I don't have a human mind. I've
been exiled on this planet of wretched filth, but I didn't come from
here. They can't reprogram me. And I think they know it, because
they're not human either. They wear these skins to fit in among the
humans, but they were never human to begin with. That's how they can
control the humans. They are a far older and more powerful race,
having honed their skills at manipulation over millions of years,
spreading from planet to planet, blending in with the native
population, and taking over. They will not stop until they have
destroyed every world and there is nothing left anywhere.

See, these bodies, these meat suits,
they're not you. If they trick you into thinking you're meat then
you're subject to the laws of meat, the limitations of meat. They
don't want you to know you're more than meat, that you can control
meat, bend meat to your will. They want your power, and you willingly
give it to them, because they've gotten you to believe you are meat.
Meat is food, but they don't eat it, they eat your power. They need
it to live. They need to get good people to do bad things because
that gives them power. But they can never steal your power. They can
never make you do anything, there's no fun in that, no sport. You
have to willingly give up your own power and your own free will to
them. Being able to manipulate people, to control people, getting
people to willingly bow before them is like a cosmic orgasm. Just
killing someone, that's nothing, there's no trip to that, but getting
someone to kill oneself, that gives them so much power.

The First Mystics

The Aboriginal Australians possess the oldest extant culture in the world, dating back at least 40,000 years, and possibly extending 100,000 years into the past or more. Theirs is the oldest unbroken lineage of mystics. In their tradition the Dreamtime is a realm beyond space and time where the past, present, and future coexist simultaneously in a seamless wholeness. Through practice they are able to locate subterranean water, navigate through inhospitable wastelands to find food and shelter, heal the sick, and travel out of the body. Their highest deity is the Rainbow Serpent, a mother goddess who may be related to the Kundalini subtle energy currents in the spine, depicted as a serpent in the Hindu traditions.

Leonard Nimoy hosts a program about the history and mysticism of the first Australians. Runs 45 minutes.
